The design is inspired by the floral wood panels used in traditional Chinese garden. Instead of adopting intricate traditional patterns of decoration, it simplifies the framework while delivers visual impact by suspending the core embroidery at the center by a silk thread with a red carved lacquer bead, which brings modern ethereal feeling.
The structure is mainly derived from the shape of “Tai Hu Stone”, a kind of whitish octagonal limestone commonly used as a key visual element in traditional Chinese garden design. The primary color comes from traditional Chinese landscape paintings which hills and streams are the major elements, the embroidery screen and frame keeps modern simple style. Nevertheless, there are four mini magnets embedded in the bottom of screen and in both sides of the outer frame to keep the frame and screen at same vertical level. This exquisite design is a great mixture of classic and modern.
